"But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray."
Luke 5:16, ESV
"And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed."
Mark 1:35, ESV
To retreat is to withdraw. In a military context, it's something done when the enemy is too powerful for you to defeat. In an every-day context, it's often done in order to find renewal. Life can be exhausting, and things get on top of you from time to time. Jesus made it a regular habit to retreat into the wild to pray both alone and with his disciples. We strive to do the same.
Retreats offer a unique opportunity for renewal, spending just a few days away from whatever is trying to overtake you in your day-to-day life and be among family and friends. What better a place to withdraw to than along the peaceful Frio river flowing through the breathtaking hill country? We host several retreats throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons, and we also take reservations for church groups who want to use our facilities for their own retreats and D-Now events. Give us a call to find your retreat today!
